General business teaches the simple business procedures of writing checks, keeping accounts, and bookkeep- ing. In this course the students become acquainted with the different types of skills that a business demands and find out if they have these skills and abilities. Typing and shorthand are basic courses for the secretary, and prove useful in other fields as well. Secretarial training teaches filing, the use of various business machines, and reviews typing and short- hand. Bookkeeping is a vocational course in which students learn double- entry bookkeeping. At the same time, any girl interested in marriage or in becoming a homemaker will find it well worth her while to take home econom- ics and family living. In these classes, girls learn cooking, sewing, first aid, practical nursing, home manage- ment, and many other techniques which will help them in their future home.
