In the fall it is traditional with them to gather the material for the Homecoming bonfire and build a float for the parade. This year's float depicted Lewistown riding in an antique, black, horsedrawn hearse. A new project undertaken this year was the purchase of a summer weight varsity jacket for all the senior varsity members. Regular varsity jackets were presented to Speed Roberts and Bob Cad- walader in appreciation of their continuous assistance with the score board and loud speaker system at our athletic contests. To stimulate sports among all boys, the Varsity Club bought the trophies that were used in intramural sports. Their charitable activities consisted of donations to the March of Dimes and the Vince Grady Fund. The senior athlete to have his name engraved on the Honor Plaque for having the highest scholastic average for four years was Locie Pensinger. ll'iIl I Urvr grim' up .stu I ran ,uct u Varsity l4'ftr'r likv yours. Pep Zia! facade mazda RAISE THAT SCORE was the enthusiastic cry raised by the members of the Pep Club as they cheered the Spartans on to victory. At football and basketball games alike, these girls loyally supported their team. They also participated in the Homecoming activities by attending the snake dance and pep rally and entering a float in the parade. One project of the club was to help the cheerleaders pay for their uniforms. Another was to donate money to the March of Dimes to support the B-PC candidates for king and queen of the McDon- ough County Basketball Tournament. Money- making projects of the club were candy sales held during the noon hour and a stand at a bas- ketball game. A new undertaking sponsored by the Pep Club this year was a skit, which was put on by the club members at a pep assembly.
