THE MAIN PROIECT of the GAA was for each girl to earn points for num- erals, the school letter, the state I, or the state emblem of Illinois. These points were earned by par- ticipating in athletic activities dur- ing the noon hour and after school. TO INSTILL in the girls a desire to become better skilled the GAA en- tered the State Postal Basket Shoot- ing Contest. Of the eighteen girls participating, the ten highest percent- ages were sent in to be judged. Our GAA placed sixth in the district. Pep Zia! facade mazda RAISE THAT SCORE was the enthusiastic cry raised by the members of the Pep Club as they cheered the Spartans on to victory. At football and basketball games alike, these girls loyally supported their team. They also participated in the Homecoming activities by attending the snake dance and pep rally and entering a float in the parade. One project of the club was to help the cheerleaders pay for their uniforms. Another was to donate money to the March of Dimes to support the B-PC candidates for king and queen of the McDon- ough County Basketball Tournament. Money- making projects of the club were candy sales held during the noon hour and a stand at a bas- ketball game. A new undertaking sponsored by the Pep Club this year was a skit, which was put on by the club members at a pep assembly.
