ndewmckzl 14754 Kaya acgarize mlmdle 466164 A CLUB THAT APPEALED to the practical minded boys of B-PC was the Industrial Arts Club. Thanks to the Industrial Arts Club, the girls' physical education department acquired a new piece of equipment, a balance beam. The individual room passes that traveled down the halls were also made by the club. An addition to the basketball scoreboard was the player identification display board used in the gymnasium. To supplement their classroom and workshop experiences, the boys and their sponsor traveled to Peoria, where they took a guided tour of the Caterpillar Company. The boys spent much of their workshop per- iods working on various projects, which were displayed in the windows downtown. Several of the best projects were sent to Macomb, where they were displayed at an Industrial Arts fair. The Silver Hammer was present- ed to Gary Gain and Harold Spurgeon as outstanding in shop and in club work. 11151 1 It s 11n5, r111sur11 rx Il 1'i1'v-pr1'.s'i1l1'11f: Cm' NYils1111. rr 51111 llf ll 1111 cl 111r1.,11111 111 fl any 1 rt 11111 ittx. 1sp1111.s'111'. THE MAIN PROIECT of the GAA was for each girl to earn points for num- erals, the school letter, the state I, or the state emblem of Illinois. These points were earned by par- ticipating in athletic activities dur- ing the noon hour and after school. TO INSTILL in the girls a desire to become better skilled the GAA en- tered the State Postal Basket Shoot- ing Contest. Of the eighteen girls participating, the ten highest percent- ages were sent in to be judged. Our GAA placed sixth in the district.
