The delicious meal was served by soph- omore mermaids. Everyone enjoyed the program which followed. The quartette sang appropriate songs, and Miss Knowl- ton gave her annual poem about the sen- iors. The Prom was the highlight of our school year. My senior friends, who were then juniors, had the time of their lives, hanging fish from the gym ceiling: and the crepe paper ship, which covered one wall, was truly a work of art. The theme of Under the Sea was further carried out by means of a rock garden and wha1e's mouth, which scared me to death-the strangest orchestral nois- es kept coming out of it! The girls in pastels, the boys in dark suits danced among the seaweeds, drank sea-foam punch, and finally left to get their coats from Davy Iones' locker. Yes, this was one night I could spend in the ocean without even knowing how to swim. What fun!
