My seri- ior friends had been waiting for this day ever since they themselves had gotten the treatment three short years before. Consequently, as the freshmen Indians, clowns, fat men, thin men, and everything else imaginable filed into the center ring of the gym, I ran to hide under the bleachers because the seniors had that out for blood look in their eyes! It seemed that the tradi- tional barrel and plate of worms vveren't enough for these initiates. Alan Payne, that sweet little baby boy, had to recite the freshman poem in baby talk, While warriors were dancing and tightrope walk- ers were performing with great skill Q? D. Our Buml on the March! Sedan! Zend The concert band, dignified as it was during the Christmas program, certainly wasn't so at practice, but under Mr. Shiplett's direction, it always gave outstanding performances. The band also took part in the County Music Festival in February and in March sent more stu- dents to the district music contest than it had ever sent before.
