Team,s in a huddlel The Spartans of B. P. C. started oft the season with a losing streak, which was not broken until County Tournament time. In the Tourney, the Spartans pulled a sur- prise by climbing from the sixth rated team in the county to third place, by beat- ing Bardolph 56-50 in the consolation game. Faced with the problem of weld- 6 Chalk talk. BASKETBALL ing two teams together, Coach John Law- son was constantly trying to find the right combination which would develop a winning team. Although the record com- piled was nothing sensational, the Spar- tans always played a hard fought game. An examination of the record will show that they lost several games by very close scores, two after an overtime. One im- portant thing that characterized our team was its sportsmanship: never has it been better. Back row: C1J1lL'll Lawson. Lyle XY1llt0l'S. llollo Opp. Um-orgv Xloiul. Lvlaml lhmv.
