During the past year the Bushnell Prairie Citv chapter of F.F.A. has sponsored a number of activities. The Magician Show donkev basketball game, and the garden seed campaign were the most important. The chapter took part in the county contests in scrap drive, parliamentary procedure, and also in some state judging contests. In the pest contest the boys received third place in the countv. Compliments of SW IFT 8: COMP KNY F. H. This year the girls ol' F. H. A. chose Spinning into the Future as their theme. To start their spinning, they elected as their officers-president, Donna Pauly vice presi- dent, Marcia Miller, secretary, Beverly Kreiderg treasurer, Carol Formhalsg parlia- mentarian, Melba Barnesg historian, Winno- nah Hoyle, chairman of public relations, Joanne Morrisg chairman of recreation, Clarabeth Pestleg and chairman of projects, Ruth Ann Heagy. Mrs. Walter Heagy was chosen as their Chapter Mother for the year. The organization had as its sponsor, Mrs. Cable. In this big spinning wheel there were sixty-one active members. Tlhey spun into many different activities during the year. Some of them were a party A. entertaining the F.F.A. boys, attending the F.H.A. Rally in Monmouth, Officers' Train- ing school in Macomb. a Mother and Daugh- ter Banquet, a wiener roast for new mem- bers, an assembly program during F.H.A. week, initiation ot' new members, and the installation of the new officers. At the F.H.A. Rally our chapter was in charge ol' the ice-breakers. Our chapter, one ol' the twenty-one in Section Nine, was honored to have Ruth Ann Heagy elected Section Chairman ot' Recrea- tion. A brand-new organization, the Rod and Gun Club, was inaugurated in l3.P.C. High School this year. Its purpose is to promote good sportsmanship and better hunters and fishermen among the students. The club planned some outdoor trips in the spring. The twenty-six members of the club elected Bill Vail, presidentg Leland Howe, vice pres- iedntg and Joanne Harper, secretary and treasurer. Mr. Melody and Mr. Johnson were the sponsors. As audio-visual education is very im- portant in today's educational system, it becomes a necessity to have trained students available to aid in running the motion pic- ture machine. Many ol' the teachers have learned to operate the projector, but there are a few who would rather have a student do this for them. Operating the projector is both a privilege the students enjoy and a means of developing reliability in those trust- ed with the equipment. Students who have learned the process ol' threading and operating the machine and, in some cases. repairing a broken reel are Leo llartlett, Ray litter, Bob llradlord, Ed- die Sammons, liill Vail, Duane Spangler.
