The Sports Committee was active in organizing both intra- and 1nter school functions Among these activities were the Parkside Halloween Party, Dad's Night, the inter-school basketball and volleyball games, and the sale of school sweatshirts. The committee introduced tumbling into the after-school intermural program, and organized a softball team for the first time. Assisting in the purchase of new athletic equipment was also among the Sports Committee's activities Chairmen were Kathy Clancy and Susan Youell. Assembly At noon on Fridays the student body assembled to hear a variety of interesting and entertaining December visit from Santa, a glimpse, through slides, of the Soviet Union, and a discussion of the Peace Corps. There were also musical as- semblies including a program by Mr. Ronald Phillips of the Seattle Symphony and many stu- Mitchell, Betsy Wheeler and Sharon Nichols. College Information Program The College Information Program arranged visits from college representatives to Olll' school. This year eighteen speakers discussed their own col- leges and the college years in general with the students. Chairman was Margo Galvin. Chapel The Chapel Committee organized and presented nondenominational Wednes- day morning chapel services. In providing a more informal atmosphere and presenting first-rate guest speakers, the Chapel Committee was enthusiastic about the success of this year's services. Outstanding programs included the addresses of the Reverends Peter Raible, Maury Bell and Robert Fulghamg a dramatization of Poohsticks5 and a visit to St. Mark's Cathedral to hear organist Peter Hallock's demonstration of the magnificent new organ. Chair- men were Bobbi Hansberger and Susy Saunders. 50 presentations. Some highlights of the year were a dent-organized hootenannies. Chairmen were Lissa

Fashion Board Appearance, personality, and grade point average are considerations in the selec- tion of fashion board mem- bers. Throughout their senior year, the members attend monthly meetings Where experiences in mer- chandising, retailing and modeling the latest fashions are planned. Lois Young - jay Jacobs I Sharon Nichols - The Bon Marche Pam Rauscher - Frederick and Nelson Kathy Clancy - Best's Apparel, Nordstrom's Religion Conference R Olivia Arnason, Candy Barnes, Isabella Czarnecki, Gair Hemphill, jane Katra. The 1966 religion conference, held at Annie Wright Seminary in Tacoma, was based on the current conflict between religious and scientific concepts of life. Both public and private schools were represented at the one day conference. Dr. Kenneth Christopherson, a professor of religion at Pacific Lutheran University, was the guest speaker. Committees Jolly Jo jolly jo, a senior project, sells delicious doughnuts in the lower corridor Wednesday mornings. Chairmen were Kathy Clancy and Kitten Woods . Keep Posted This year the main project of the Keep Posted Committee was the creation of imaginative and thought provoking bulletin boards and the presentation of student artwork and displays. It helped to keep the student body informed on current and cultural affairs as well as college news and other topics of general interest. Chairmen were Melanie Gallaher and Olivia Arnason. Social Service The Social Service Committee endeavored to acquaint the student body with the needs of others. Under the guidance of Mrs. MCC all three projects were undertaken success- fully this year: the U. G.N. Driveg the continued support of Mica Stella, and American Indian girlg the bake sale which provided money for a Thanksgiving gift to the Seattle Children's Home. Chairman was Christi Thompson. Lost And Found The Lost and Found Committee worked diliqently to eliminate itself by charging students ten cents for articles left out after school. By collecting these fines, the Committee hopes to help students develop a greater sense of personal responsibility. The collected money was contributed to the Social Service Committee. Chairman was Kitten Woods. Library Shelving books, filing cards and issuing overdue book slips with the purpose of maintain- ing as efficient library system are among the responsibilities of the Library Committee. With the help of Mrs. Matthews, librarian, the Committee displayed books of special interest to demonstrate the many resources of the library. Chairman was Vicki Tennant. 51
