The school newspaper cannot solve all of them for him, but it can be a positive and constructive influence. The free and open encounter of teen-agers with ideas and facts new to them is a necessity. The school newspaper is a significant medium in which to stimulate positive thinking about big and small problems. Arnason. As students write and re -write to convince other students, they discover that they must be critical of their own work. They realize that few persons have a monopoly on truth.
