The school newspaper cannot solve all of them for him, but it can be a positive and constructive influence. The free and open encounter of teen-agers with ideas and facts new to them is a necessity. The school newspaper is a significant medium in which to stimulate positive thinking about big and small problems. Arnason. As students write and re -write to convince other students, they discover that they must be critical of their own work. They realize that few persons have a monopoly on truth. Second Semester Court And Council COURT , STANDING: Sarah Parrington, Susan Bill, Norah Scully, Liz Ashley, Isabella Czarnecki, Mary C. Ellis. COUNCIL, KNEELING: Margo Galvin, Cindy Taylor, Anne Woodland, Phoebe Caner, Peggy Scheinman, Peggy Bill. The Council is the legislative branch of the student government. Meeting once a week, it encourages a close relationship between students and faculty and helps the school to operate smoothy. The members of Council include an elected president and the presidents of grades seven through twelve. Calmly assembled here with three layouts not yet com- pleted, a major picture still down at Frederick's, and various copy not even written, we feel no anxiety that our deadline is in fifteen minutes. The sketches will be completed and the annual will be assembled on time.
