1 1 1 1 1 , The scholastic achievements of our class started in 1941 when we took our eighth grade exams. Bob Nightingale rplaced third in the county and Norma Clapp, Jean Sullivan, Hazel Bose, Pat Myers, June Gildersleeve, Bud Chittle, Bud Myers, Betty Jean Gill, Eleanor Vickroy, Ben Texter, and Herbert Kleve all had honorable mentions. The eighth grade medals were awarded to Ardys Waller and Bud Myers. In our four years of high school, Pat Myers, Bud Myers, Jean Sullivan, Hazel Rose, and Betty Jean Gill participated in the elimination tests given at Chardon. In 1945 Betty Jean Gill, Hazel Hose, and Jean Sullivanf. were made members of the National Honor Society. Pat Myers was brought in and made a member in 1944, and in 1945 Norma Clapp came into the society. The Senior Scholarship tests were iven to nine seniors at Chardon. They were Norma Clapo, Caro? Taylor, Betty Jean Gill, Pat Myers, June Gildersleeve, Hazel Hose, Bud Myers, Bud Chlttle and Jean Sullivan, Jean Placed fourth in the county and Hazel received honorable mention, Jean brought more glory to our class by winning a scholorship at Hiram College, and Bob Nightin ale by winning a four year scholar- ship to Ohio State niversity. Betty can Gill is our class Valedictorian, and Patricia Myers is the Saluditorian. Q I
