One of the most exciting experiences of our lives is finally coming to an end. September 5, 1962 marked the starting point while May 30, 1975 marks the finish line. Most of us have attended G.M.H.S. for thirteen years with many mixed feelings... feelings of pain, happiness, and at times even pure hatred. But I think given the choice we wouldn ' t have traded it for anything. Our class in kindergarten was fairly large. The only remains of that group are six of us who have adopted the nickname of The Six Originals. Marty Massey, Joetta Handrich, Sandy Eastman, Irene Endress, Jodee Lefebvre, and Aleta Niemi are the only ones who have stayed since that first day of school so long ago. Despite this fact, the five others who have joined us since then are just like one of the family and thought of dearly. The first two members to join our class in sixth grade were Don Alverson of Rochester and Tom Thompson of Detroit. We then had another addition in eighth grade. ..Kim Kirkens of Kalamazoo. Our final additions in eleventh grade were Mitzi Laeder of Grayling and Ron Tester of Springport. We had one more addition this year who didn ' t stay... Donna Richards of Mecosta. I guess what we really want to say is thanks. Thanks to our parents, teachers and anyone else who has made this part of our lives such an enjoyable one. People say that graduation is just the beginning so thanks for making this beginning possible. God Bless, THE SENIORS OF 1975

Mrs. Olli began teaching at Burt Township School when the students of the present grad- uating class were second graders. She continued to lend a hand during their third, fifth and sixth grades. In the sixth grade, Mrs. Olli helped the class begin our money making endeavor with a combination school-town newspaper called the Brat ' s Back Talk. A heartfelt thanks, Mrs. Olli, for all the help you ' ve given us! In the following pages the 1975 Polar Bear Staff will attempt to portray through words and photos the 1974-75 schoolyear. The yearbook staff mascot, Sonny-Bear, will be your guide as you look at the year just gone by.
