O 1 1 1 1 l 1 -5-, Education is not an easy process, it is a never-ending process. It is a mixture of personal happiness and of personal tragedy, of personal experience and the experi- ences of others, of home life, work, and, of course, school. From the time a child reaches the age of five years till the day he emerges from high school with his diplo- ma as an adult, school is, perhaps, next to home, the most important influence in his life. School year 1966-1967 is at a close. It was a year of new and different problems, but more so, a year of new and close friendships, of new and higher successes, and of new experiences. lt was a year of learning for those teaching as well as those being taught. And it is now a year of the past. What is the past but memories? We dedicate this book not as an attempt to recreate the year 1966-1967, but, rather, as a little window into the past to give a small but warm glimpse of the experi- ences which make up education. To this purpose we, the journalism staff, present to you THE 1967 CHARGER STANDING, left to right: Vicky Kinsey, Linda Lanfear, and Mrs. Schlender. K - gffsf .f vi...-isew,v1f1:f ' it I Killed Her On Friday, April 24, 1967, the drama club presented, Who Killed Aunt Caroline , a mystery -farce by Grant Richards. The play told the story of a poor but honest family of a de- ceased doctor who were in des- perate need of money to allow the oldest daughter to marry a young newspaper man and to send the only son to college. Money would be no problem if their rich and miserly Aunt Caroline would give them some of her inherited fortune. But Aunt Caroline despised the Endicotts even though they were her dead brother's family. Only with Aunt Caroline's death would they re- ceive any of the money. And Aunt Caroline did die--of poison in their home. lt was a plain case of murder. Anyone could see that. So Lt. Clayton of the police department was dispatched to find the killer. And the identity of the killer was a real surprise. A special note of recognition should be offered to Mrs. Forker who took over direction of the play after Miss Hunt's unexpected illness.
