Class History On an early crisp fall morning in 195 S a shy, bewildered Freshman class entered into the halls of Burrillville High. Upon being introduced to our advisor Mr. Neri, we elected the following officers to guide us through our first year: President, john Shepardg Vice-President, Gerry Rhodes, Secretary, Linda Kozlikg and Treasurer, Dennis Potter. The first social event, a Get-Acquainted Dance, was held by the Seniors in our honor. Harry Dutch and Shirley Racine were elected King and Queen. Although still lowly underclassmen, a more knowing and brave group of Sophomores entered dear B.H.S. again. Under the careful direction of Mr. Neri, John Shepard was elected President, Orrin Laferte, Vice-President, Robert Ducharme, Treasurer, and Sheila Chisholm, Secretary at the first class meeting of the year. In athletics, Robert Lapierre, Gerald Robillard, Howard Laporte, John Shepard, and Robert Ford became members of the National Athletic Society. Hurrah, upperclassmen at last! As leaders of our Junior class we selected John Shepard for President, Robert Ford, Vice-President, Priscilla Aldrich, Secretary, and Robert Ducharme, Treasurer. At Girls' State, Burrillville High was represented by Pat Holubesko, Shirley Racine and Jacqueline Brousseau. Geraldine Freitas attended Model Legislature, and Gordon Rouleau happily received the coveted All State guard position in football. Members of the National Athletic Society wereg John Shepard, Robert Ducharme, Robert Ford, Orrin Laferte, Howard Laporte, Robert Lapierre, Gerald Robillard, and Robert Lafreniere. On a beautiful warm june evening we held a Farewell Dance for the departing Seniors with Sheila Chisholm acting as chairman. Robert Ford was chosen Class Marshal by the class of 1958. September, 1958-at last we had reached our long awaited goal, and we would now begin our last year as mighty Seniors. With the resignation of Mr. Neri, Mr. Albert Lavallee consented to be our class advisor. John Shepard was elected President for the fourth consecutive time. Robert Ford was elected Vice-President, Sheila Chisholm, Secretary, and Robert Ducharme, Treasurer. The Freshman- Get-Acquainted Dance put on by the Seniors in October started off our Senior year with a bang. Many activities were to followg a card party Page Thirty
