After a few days of meeting new teachers, getting lost, and losing schedules, we finally settled down, and, at our first class meeting, were introduced to our advisor, Mr. Jolin, and elected our class officers. We chose Theodore Pascoe, President, Joan Normandin, Vice-President, Benjamin LaPorte, Secretary, and William Herzog, Treasurer. Marilyn Miga shone scholastically with the highest average. In the fall of '53, we sophomores, now really a part of B.H.S., settled down to business from the start. We elected Dale Reed, President, John Lacey, Vice-President, Patricia Freitas, Secretary, and Robert Stewart, Treasurer. As Juniors, upperclassmen at last, we really began to show our abili- ties. We started by electing Marilyn Miga, President, David Sartrys, Vice-President, Anna Lariviere, Secretary, and Deborah Steere, Treasurer. Our new advisor, Miss Loretta Lukowicz helped immensely through this bountious year. We got off to a fine start by holding the Halloween Dance. Judith Pendleton and Beverly Devlin were representatives at Girl's State, Deborah Steere was a member of Model Congress, Judith Pendleton, Sally Hughes, Robert Stewart and John Burton went to Model Legislature, Raymond Brissette and Robert Stewart were members of the National Athletic Society, Marilyn Miga's essay on XVhat Civil Defence Means To Me, won second prize in the local V.F.W. Auxiliary contest, John Lacey was chosen Class Marshall for the Senior Class of '5 5. Lastly, we gave a farewell dance for the Seniors. September, 195 5-at last we had reached our goal, we, the mighty seniors! To guide us We elected: David Meikle, President, Thomas DeBlois, Vice-President, Patricia Freitas, Secretary, and Deborah Steere, Treasurer. Included in our activities were: Freshman Get Acquainted Dance, at which Shirley Racine and Harry Dutch were chosen queen and king, Stardust, fpromj, with Gayle Flynn, chairman and Deborah Steere, queen, Our Senior Play, A Date With Judy, directed by Miss Morin, the V.F.W. essay contest in which Marilyn Miga won first prize with Sally Hughes second and Beverly Worrall third, Moonglow, fspring promj with Ann Lovett as chairman, the class banquet and the farewell dance given to us by the juniors, Class Night with Eleanor Gingell as chairman. Lastly, graduation, Presidential Elections was our theme and Marilyn Miga and Marilyn McCann were valedictorian, and salutatorian respectively. Now we have completed four successful and happy years at B.H.S. We hope the future will be as rewarding. Page Thirty-Two CLASS PIIEM OUR FRESHMAN YEAR HAD JUST BEGUN, WE FELT QUITE ILL-AT-EASE. WE CAME NOT KNOWING WHAT WE SOUGHT-- WE TRIED SO HARD TO PLEASE. OUR SOPHOMORE WORK WAS HARDER SO MANY THINGS WERE LEARNED, OUR TEACHERS GAVE US GUIDANCE AND MANY FRIENDS WERE EARNED. THEN WHEN WE REACHED OUR JUNIOR YEAR WE MADE A PLAN OR TWO CONCERNING OUR BRIGHT FUTURE AND WHAT WE CHOSE TO DO. NOW WE HAVE REACHED OUR SENIOR YEAR. WE HAVEN'T LONG TO STAY- TOO SOON WE GO INTO THE WORLD EACH ON HIS SEPARATE WAY. SO WE WILL SING A SONG OF PRAISE TO OUR DEAR SCHOOL'S NAME TO WHOM WE OWE IN FUTURE YEARS ALL HONOR AND ALL FAME. Although they did not win the Class C championship, the high spirited Broncos led by Len Trinque, Tommy DeBlois, Don Marsh and Ray Brissette, co-captains of this year's team, had a very successful season. The 1955 team had seven wins, two ties, and one loss. Burrillvilile played its first game of the season in the Round Robin against Cranston, Class A champs The game ended in a 0-0 tie. However, most agree that Burrillville had outclassed Cranston. The spirited Thanksgiving game against Woonsocket ended in the only other 0-0 tie. In league competition, Burrillville defeated her longtime rivals, Colt 21-0 and Barring- ton 26-7. Burrillville lost its only game to South Kingston 13-7 in the closing minutes of the game. This was Burrillvilles first defeat by South Kingston in 20 years. The only Burrillville player to make the Rhode Island All-State team was Len Trinque as defensive backer-up. Len Trinque, Don Marsh and Fran Kaczynski made the All Class C team. With the exception of Allen Genereux, Ray Pepler and George Racine, all regulars are graduating. Page Fifty-Six H. Rivet, T. In addition to an undefeated league season the Broncos led by Cap- tain Leonard Joe', Trinque scored notable victories over West Point and New Hampshire freshmen and Taft of Connecticut. Two members were chosen on the All State hockey team, Leonard Trinque on the first team and Jack Lacey, third team. Page Sixty-Two le Y F Jael!
