“All the world’s a stage And all the men and women merely players They have their exits and their en- trances And one man in his time plays many parts.” William Shakespeare It is opening night, Burrell High School. The actors, director, and the stage crew are in their places. The curtain is about to rise. The nervous ninth-grade player worries, “Will | be a success? Will | know my lines? Will the audience like me?” The more seasoned veteran, perhaps a sophomore or a junior, is more assured. His only worry is, “When will | be groomed for the lead?” The leading star, the senior is going to leave the stage after this season in order to further his ca- reer elsewhere. His thoughts range from “Will | be a hit on the road?” to “Perhaps | should stay here where | am comfortable,” to “Will the world like me?” Hush! The house lights are dimming. Places, everyonel A voice off stage whispers, “Break a legl” It’s Burrell On Stage.
