Mrs. Conroy’s program deals mainly with developing and implementing an enrichment program for students identified as being gifted. Stu- dents work in the Gifted Re- source Center on projects of their . own choosing. Mrs. Conroy pro- ' vides guidance and assistance in obtaining resource material. Some of the projects chosen this year include genetics, photography, ca- reer study, independent study ' and future problem solving. The Mr; Joseph Yedlowskt students also had two enrichment Driver's Education days which they were excused from their classes to listen to speakers. Another addition to the Senior High was the Special Education class. The reason for this move was so that the students would have the opportunity to socialize with peers of the appropriate age; since they formerly resided in an elementary school. The main idea stressed is independence training, with the emphasis on students doing as much as possible on their own. One such skill is re- ceiving the correct change when purchasing an item. We had the manpower and the morale. The high morale was evident when some of the team got crew cuts to show this spirit. What happened between dustbowl and the end of the season can best be answered by Head Coach Geyer. Coach Geyer said that most of the prob- lems were due to turnovers and mistakes. They were also lacking the depth, no real- ly good kickers at first, and there wasn't a lot of experience. This also developed later in the season. One of the major changes was the dropping down in con- ference, from AAA to AA. 1984 COACHING STAFF. Front: D. Giordano, G. Collodi, G. Geyer, V. Papurello; Back: C. Napierkowski, R. Napierkowski, J. The play, directed by Gene Centorcelli, assis- tant director Tim Chelednik and student director Bruce Hyland, dealt with the inheritance of Old Jason Strong. Strong’s relatives greedily eyed the inheri- tance only to find out that Jason willed the money to a long-lost nephew and to the family of his best friend. Throughout the play characters schemed to ruin the nephew's chances of getting the money.. To give the play even more excitement, there was a crazy undertaker and a ghost. The cast enjoyed the play, wrote a song and had the feeling the play was spooked. This proved to be true when the cast did a performance for the blind. Actually a circuit breaker blew, and put the auditorium in the dark for five minutes. Congratula- tions to the cast on tan excellent performance. i, Mr. Chelednik, B. For many years she was a secre- tary in the front office. She proved her loyalty and stamina by performing well a demanding job. Students with prob- lems, teachers with requests, waiting visitors, and hurried administrators all were treated by her with the same day- to-day patience and sweetness. We concentrate our minds for cramming ses- sions and classroom lectures; we free our minds for dress- up days and cafeteria talk-and-food sessions. These must point us in the direction of that final curtain on graduation day when we hope that we are prepared to smile at that mystery called the future. After a four-year-long perfor- mance, it is time to leave the stage, to remove the make-up, to turn off the dressing room light. Only the stagehands re- main to strike the set. As we leave the theatre for the last time, we think that it was a pretty good show after all. Wi 8 hy clan t Jove Luna ha ‘SEU Xe eouze D com 't he dinky or Oty!
