K-Mart: Standing; Rob Snyder, Joni Liput, Albert Pugliese Kneeling: Amy Schultz Most students become employed in the Lower Burrell and New Kensington area where there is a wide variety of job types. Among these are cashiers, waitresses, store clerks, cooks, and many others. While working, students receive the training they will need to perform their jobs to the best of their ability. Once the training is completed, they may do their jobs and gain the experience of working with others, which will be useful in the future. Along with the train- ing, most businesses provide their employees with uniforms. They serve several purposes: standard dress, company advertisement, and employee identification. Also, they help improve visual appearance. i) NG ay serenity ? a a2 Long John Silvers: Standing: Kevin McCloskey, Alan Polczynski, Brad McGuire, Pat Provenzo Kneeling: Todd Johnston Sitting: Kathy Kapustik, Cindy Finn, Tracy Ciesielski Gulf; Brian Yangula STUDENT LIFE 132

Bucs Earning Bucks: : There are many out-of-school activities for students, and among the most important are jobs. Jobs, for whatever reason they are ob- tained, provide many benefits for students. Two of these benefits are money and work experience. The money earned from the stu- dents’ employment may be used for buying extras, or it may be used to help finance further education. Also, the work experience and the sense of responsibility that is gained is valuable. Jobs not only help the students in future employment, but also help them maintain their responsibilities in school. Announcers and Aides This year’s aides and announcers have helped ease the tension of everyday school life. Office aides do their part to help the secretaries by running errands, filing sched- ules and other forms, collecting attendance slips, and performing other activities that help get things accomplished more quickly and easily. The announcers help by letting the student body know in advance of any ac- tivity going on at school. Also, the sound effects provided at Halloween, Christmas, and other special occasions have helped bring smiles and laughs to both student and Kathy Kapustik faculty throughout the year.
