BURRELL AT Four area schools gather together to form the Northern Westmoreland Vocational Tech- nical School. They are Burrell, Valley, Kiski, and Franklin Regional. The school consists of seventeen programs of study, and two sessions—morning and afternoon. Students receive both class instruction and on-the-job training. The school does not, however, provide just educational instruction. Students may participate in competitions and clubs offered there. Competitions may be on re- gional, national, oor international levels—depending on the program of study. The clubs program consists of the VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America) and DECA (Distributive Educational Clubs of America). These clubs work together to orga- nize dances and trips for their members. One such trip this year was to Seven Springs.
