Did you ever notice at the beginning of school the blazers and trucks with mag wheels? You'd need a step ladder just to get to the first step. What makes them so great? Sure, they look really neat, but be serious. Would you like to ride around in a truck ten feet off the ground? It might appeal to some people, but it might be better to stay in contact with the ground! 4 JUINIORS Douglas Montanari Timothy Moret Tracey Morrow Judith Myers Brian Neilen Lisa Nicastro Jeffrey Novak Alan Nydes Arthur Oleskey Edward Oliver Debra Orostek Mark Paolillo Brian Parkhill Stacey Parkhill Tracey Pasterick Patricia Peck Paul Peterson John Peyronel Janelle Pierce Eugene Pish Look to the Sky. Besides the usual pep rallies, the cheerleaders really put their heads together to help psyche up the football team. They hired a pilot to fly over the Burrell and Val- ley practice fields with a banner displaying the words, “GO BUCS, BEAT VALLEY.” This happened the week before the rivalry football game. It was a proud moment for all as the plane circled the school and field. But it’s not true. Students attend Vo-tech for four of our periods a day, somedays without a break, learning a trade which they ©” take into the working world after graduation. Some of the students even go on to college to learn more about their particular trades. Don’t think these students are taking 2 short cut in education! JUNIORS ? This is question haunting Juniors, even Seniors, before graduation. College is a big decision for many students. Many questions arise such as what college to attend, what course to take, and above all “Will I be able to survive?” Only the student can answer these questions. Anyone who wanted to be class officer—President, Vice President, Secretary—had to make a speech in front of his entire class. In the Senior Class Officer speeches, Jim Bistline ‘ve a very rousing speech. He never said what he planned on doing as Senior Class ‘resident; instead, he talked about how jreat America is. The amazing part of this tory is that Jim’s speech was so good that he soundly defeated his opposing candidates in the election. The Junior Class Officer candidates also used visual aids and good at- tention getters in their speeches. Tim Matson, Treasurer candidate, brought a sack with a dollar sign printed on it as his visual Treasurer, or aid so that people would remember his name when voting for Treasurer. Brad McGuire, Presidential candidate, brought in a bicycle horn to give the speeches more of a convention-type atmosphere. Brad had big competition with Presidential candidate Mike Marra. Mike took the microphone and walked around the stage as he gave his speech. BHS nearly had a riot on hand as he got the Juniors to stomp their feet and clap their hands in a rhythmic beat while he sang a song. These methods must all be ef- fective because Tim Matson became Treasur- er, Brad McGuire become President, and Mike Marra became Vice-President. Sopho- more and Freshmen candidates used posters and buttons to get publicity.
