a Wide Varielg of Skills Although the main purpose of the business department is to enable students to obtain business positions upon leaving school, a number of these courses can help all students gain practical knowledge which can be utilized in virtually any pro- fession, such as typing and shorthand. There are three separate divisions in the business course: clerical, bookkeeping, and secretarial. For those students who wish to ac- quire knowledge ofthe make-up of for- eign languages, Burrell offers three courses: Spanish, French, and German. Spanish and French are taught up to the fourth year level, while German is offered up to the third level. ln addition to the text books, a modern language lab aids students in listening and speaking prac- tice. Many phases of culture such as cus- toms, songs, holidays, and geography are also taught in the language classes.
