a Wide Varielg of Skills Although the main purpose of the business department is to enable students to obtain business positions upon leaving school, a number of these courses can help all students gain practical knowledge which can be utilized in virtually any pro- fession, such as typing and shorthand. There are three separate divisions in the business course: clerical, bookkeeping, and secretarial. Students are placed in these areas according to individual ability and any student in the school may take any business course which suits his needs. fri 51 ... For those students who wish to ac- quire knowledge ofthe make-up of for- eign languages, Burrell offers three courses: Spanish, French, and German. Spanish and French are taught up to the fourth year level, while German is offered up to the third level. ln addition to the text books, a modern language lab aids students in listening and speaking prac- tice. Many phases of culture such as cus- toms, songs, holidays, and geography are also taught in the language classes.
