The choice of studies includes Regular Biology, BSCS, Biology ll, Regular Chemistry, Chem Study, Chemistry Il, Regu- lar Physics, PSSC, Earth 84 Space Science, and Nuclear Science. The English Department at Burrell undoubtedly ranks high among neighbor- ing schools. ln addition to general and college prep courses required on all grade levels, Honors English is offered to those students who show special interest and talent in literature and writing. Advanced Placement English, offered only on the twelfth grade level, gives the most gifted students a chance to complete the equiv- alent of a college freshman English course by taking a standardized test at the end of the year. Over the years, the curriculum has expanded to include an impressive and varied list of electives including speech, drama, logic, and journalism for those students who wish to gain a full scope of English in its diversified forms.

The Mathematics Department prepares students for many jobs in fields such as engineering, architecture, and the ever-expanding computer industry. The General Math course provides an overall understanding of basic mathematics. Other courses include Algebra I and ll, Geom- etry, and Advanced Algebra 84 Trigonometry. The Fifth Year Math course lMathematicaI Analysis Honorsl goes even deeper into the subject of Math and prepares the student for higher math such as Calculus. Miss Lege explains the fundamentals of Trigonometry. Beth Parks consults Mr, Matisko on a math problem.
