Ms. Archer: Just remember as you age gracefully; that 4 laps, 25 jacks, and 30,20,10's may have helped you in the process. To your health and good spirit!!! Mr. Barden: This class is History. Your outta here! Mrs. Blumburg: Remember — it's the money, honey. Mr. Cable: Expect of others only what you expect of yourself . . . and . . . Be careful out there!! Mr. Chirico: Never set your heart on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich until you are sure there is some jelly. Mrs. Christie: Humor is the best medicine! Mr. Cole: Break a leg! Mrs. Corrigan: Best wishes to an original group — keep challenging yourselves and finding creative solutions. Mr. Crutchley: It has been a pleasure watching you grow and mature from 7th graders to seniors, and I've enjoyed being one of our advisors since 10th grade. Best Wishes. Mrs. Doyle: Always have a goal before you. Mr. Fitzpatrick: A winner succeeds by trying. Mrs. Forman: Remember: you are what you read. Mr. Hadcock: Changes — Greet them with enthusiasm. Grow with them. Mr. Horn: Don't forget to take your vitamins. Avoid fatty foods. Wear a scarf when it's cold. Have your dress shirts starched. Read poetry aloud. Write stuff. Read stuff. Mr. Jones: Never give a inch. Mr. McCall: Remember as you pass thru life Wax on, wax off . Mr. Meyer: When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth. Mr. Nokes: Advice — wise men don't need it; fools won't heed it. Mrs. Oakley: Expand your circle of friends. Bring in someone new. Try something different, but pretend that your mother can see you. Mrs. Oberdieck: The person who wants to do something finds a way; the other finds an excuse. May you all have wonderful times along the way. Mrs. O'Neil: You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it happen. Mrs. Pennington: In the year 2000 most of the Class of 1988 will be 30 and well established in shaping the 21st century. Best wishes for as much positive growth and change in the next 12 years as you have achieved during the past 12. Dr. Quick: Over my desk, a sign reads, If it's fatal, it's no big deal . I would remind students that some things that seem like big deals — things like tests, papers due, even slaves lost — will probably turn out to be unimportant in the long run while some things we take for granted — like family, trust, and lasting relationships are the true big deals . Magister Schultz: Semper ubi sub ubi Mrs. Wagner: Marriage advice: Take time to hear the unspoken words of your future spouse, and time to listen to the spoken ones. Mr. Westa: Outdoor activities — skiing, hiking, camping — will add greatly to your health and happiness. 30 Opps! The Karate Kid? Isn't this fun? FROM THE PAST Is math that fun? Larinda DEDICATION This year we dedicate the yearbook to a woman who has given much to BH-BL. Dawn O'Neil has been a phys. ed. teacher here for twenty-seven years. Her achievements as the varsity field hockey coach are even more outstanding. Mrs. O'Neil started the field hockey program at Burnt Hills twenty-four years ago. Since then she has had 201 career wins and has had a winning record for 23 out of 24 seasons. Sectionals have existed for just 13 years and Coach O'Neil has made the finals 9 times, winning 5 sectional titles. This year was by far her most successful as she coached the team to a state championship. Her greatest achievement, however, is the joy she brings to all of us through her understanding and enthusiasm, as a coach, a teacher, and a friend. For everything Mrs. O'Neil has given us over the years, we dedicate to her, this yearbook. 152 - u- Vi THE PAJAMA GAME 153 ■ a? It was such a trashy thing to say Like I was so desperate for him I'd jump off a cliff or something. We didn’t have any birth control. I started out saying it was just the wrong time. Then I started thinking it was the wrong guy. After iie said that, he put on this big act about it. If he really cared, he'd have let it drop. He'd have given me time. 1 mean, you don't have to be the brain of the world to know you don’t have sex without protection. And you sure don't make a baby with a guy who thinks he can threaten you!' Nobody should pressure anybody to have sex. Especially if you feel you’re not ready. Or prepared. It’s a fact of life that if you have sex without safe, effective birth control, you’re going to get pregnant. Who should be responsible for birth control? It can be you. it can be him. even better when it’s both. If you need information or just someone to talk to. call your nearest Planned Parenthood. We can help. That’s what we’re here for.
