If I can say to someone else, “I love you,” I must be able to say, “I love in you everyone, I love through you the world, I love in you also myself.” ______________________________— Erich Fromm Board Of Education LEFT TO RIGHT. Students It was really great that I could go to such a school as Burnt Hills, during my A.F.S. year. I got a lot of good experiences for which I want to thank you so much. Burnt Hills will stay in my mind as a nice memory and a wonderful time. I hope that some of you will be able to visit me in my country that I have the opportunity to introduce you to our customs as cheerfully as you did to me. I wish a lot of luck to everybody and hope I’ll see you once again.Vielen Dank und “uf Wiederluege” Maya Frei from Switzerland Leaving your own country, family and friends to go to a foreign one is not easy at all. But when you are welcomed and accepted with such friendliness and kindness, you know that your fears have been in vain. At the moment I’m enjoying the most wonderful experience in my life. I’ve learned so much about America, the people, about my own country and about myself. I’ll certainly go home much richer than when I came. To my family, friends, school and community, I can only say thank you. I’m gonna miss ya! Lydia Scholtz from South Africa 115 T.V. Station ROW I, LEFT TO RIGHT. K. Lilts. A. Dougherty. ROW 2 L. McLean “We shall succeed only so far as we continue that most distasteful of all activity, the intolerable labor of thought. Judge Learned Hand 173 176 Jeans 178 179 Flashing red and yellow lights, the orange creature pauses in front of a red brick building. An American flag flaps in the breeze, atop the roof. Robot-like creatures file out, and disappear behind glass doors. The orange creature vanishes. They walk in pursuit of a predetermined destination. They each enter their cell. Their computer minds click on and they sit quietly behind slabs of wood and metal. The sound of a bell triggers them to abruptly rise and leave in pursuit of a different cell. The orange creature suddenly reappears, and they file back inside it. The red brick building is now' empty, but happy, know ing that tomorrow it will again be filled. Gail Shevack Spartan Spotlight “Growing Up” Yearbook Message The arrival of the yearbook is an annual sign of the impending end of a school year and the departure of another class of graduates. It is a time for our congratulations to you Seniors for your many achievements and for your own self-congratulations. Graduation, in a time of economic recession and high unemployment, can mean worry, frustration and delay in the fulfillment of personal plans and ambitions. So did war and the draft to preceding classes. All generations have faced problems and found solutions. I have no doubt that this class of ’75 will find as much fulfillment and success in life as has any of its fifty-five predecessors. Your teachers join me in wishing you well and in the hope that you will find that your years in B.H.-B.L. were profitably spent. Although we, the class of'75, leave Burnt Hills High School; desks, lockers, hallways, classrooms and all other parts of the building, still remaining with us is the learning we have accumulated, the friendships we have formed and memories of the good times spent within its walls.
