Hilltop Memories :0 -Vi.-.'-' We’re introducing “Topper, a sprightly little fellow, who is going to escort you through the pages of our memory scrap book. Topper, being an elf, is naturally full of fun and that is why we created him to represent our student body as a whole, for we do have a wonderful time in our school. Topper hopes that you enjoy this record of the many memories we have of this year. Thanatopsis Dedication We, the senior class of 1948, take pride in dedicating our yearbook to our advisor, Mrs. Mary E. Quellhorst. You have provided us with: A better understanding of our fellowmen, You have placed a goal for us: A patient and intelligent citizen in an intricate world, You shall always be remembered by us for: Your understanding and righteousness of our individual differences. June has rolled around again and spring fever has once more taken a firm hold upon all of us. And the sophomores? Please! We are practically full fledged juniors. As faculty advisors go, 1 don’t think any the freshmen and Miss Zimpel, as to who was going to put up that last piece of crepe paper. For you see the classes of 1949 and 1950 held a dance together. It was a success and we each made the net profit of ---------, well, it was a class could ask for a better one than ours. success. And as for the class, we even have a few brains, but the rest of us are just common, ordinary, ambitious students. We started our freshman year under the excellent guidance of Mr. Jones graduating to Miss Healy as sophomores. As freshmen we were very industrious and made scads of money by selling Christmas paper, greeting cards, and seeds that would grow anything from soup to nuts. But above all, we were going to put on our first dance. That was really something. For a while it was a toss between In our sophomore year we have had several 7th period dances which were a credit to our class; we sold our old favorite Christmas paper and all together we had another financially successful year. The sophomores would like to close this short history by giving a special word of praise to that fine athlete, Ted Michalec. Always a credit to any group he might represent, the Class of '50, is very proud that he is one of them. FRESHMEN CLASS OF 1951 We are the largest freshmen class to begin the hardships of science, algebra, Latin, and compositions. We’re noted for our ambitions, problems, and antics. Miss Ashworth and Mr. Warren are our advisors. With their help, we managed a square dance and had several get-togethers. Row 1 : J. Getty, D. Curtis, D. DeWitt, J. Armer, K. Askew, B. Armer, J. More often than not we have found that the realization of a dream is not the same as the dream itself. And so it is with graduation.
