Beard, took part in several county, district, and state activities this year, in which awards were taken each time. The parliamentary procedure team won a plaque and gold award for first place in the district contest. Gene Foster, Jesse West, Gene Lust, Frank Phillips, Howard Gompf, Hugh Whrel, Gaines Rinehart, James Miller, Harry Wil- liams, and Bill LaRoach make up the team. A plaque and bronze award were won by the members in the State Chapter Contest for our scrap book. Several members were initiated for Greenhand degree in November. A county ping-pong tournament will be held in March, a parent and son ban- quet in April, and elections of new officers in May. For June the boys have planned a swimming party. In July they will attend the F.F.A. camp, which is held near New Philadelphia. The year will be completed by the showing of their projects at the county fair. Fl' f rs rsfs Miller, P. The F.H.A. started the school year by electing officers. Pauline Nesbitt was elected presidentg Eloise Shipman, vice presidentg Barbara Foster, secretaryg Ann Benton, treasurerg and Loretta Foster, reporter and historian. The F.H.A. sponsored a Halloween party for the F.F.A. October twenty-ninth. Games were played and refreshments were served. On January fourteenth, the F.H.A. girls Went to Fredricktown to the annual F.H.A. District Convention. Mt. Gilead had the largest group of F.H.A. members. Each school contributed some- thing to the program. The election of officers was held for the District. Margaret Sheehe was elect- ed the new District President. Refreshments were served.
