lil f ' ' f M.. , Vfaf., 4 A .sinh A ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION The Athletic Association plays 1 very important part in the life of Burnham School It arranges all the sports activities and athletic classes The A A plans for varsity games with Stoneleigh Northampton School for Girls Saint Michaels Northampton High Smith Academy Cushing Academy and othcrs Every Friday night the Athletic Association girls are either making sand wx iches or preparing the cokes and potato chips which they sell during the Yellovs and Purple basketball games Many of the A A girls either play or referee Almost every year and 1955 has been no exception the Athlctic Associa tion gives a tea dance which always proves to be a great deal of fun This year the A A sponsored 1 riotous show which added to the gaiety and laughter of Burnham life On Mountain and Field Day these girls cooked delicious hamburgers and hot dogs In a more serious mood they sponsored the annual March of Dimes In May they planned the annual banquet held in the gym At this time Athletic outstanding ab1l1ty in sports The team plaque and Field Day cup are also avx arded during this program Officers of this important organization are Gretchen Hager President Donna Abbey Vice President and Helen Coonley Secretary Treasurer The advisor is the ever understanding Mrs D The entire school feels indebted to her and to the Athletic Association for their many effective activities as well as for their magnificent sportsmanship and spirit fam! 1 Arizzmr Mrs Danforth Vzfe Prerzdeazt Donna Abbey Preizdeul Gretchen Hager Serretarm Treamrer Helen Coonley Mcmbers Patricia Bakcr Patricia Thomas Lynn Head Manuela Vex e Judith Vifalker Deborah Williams Virginia Gemmlll Doris vonConta 65 C . . .
