Complications pile one on top of the other when a local filling station is held up. Pamela elopes and Billy is sus- pected in both cases. So everybody's apple cart is upset when Glory Witherspoon, Go Ann Hertzlerl, the seventeen year old daughter of Sam'slong-lost son, bounces in from Missouri. where since her father's death. she has been living with her maternal grandparents, Caleb and Maria Coggles, fRonald Harpsterj and fDorothy Betlyonl, poor but respectable farmers, who have sent her to Sam to ed- ucate. A sweet and lovable girl, Glory soon captures her grandfathers heart. as well as the enmity of Kit. Agnes and George, who fearing that old Sam will change his will in her favor. plot together to ruin her with her grandfather. George tricks her into writing a check, to which he forges Sam's signature in her handwriting, while Kit wheedles Glory into writing a love letter to Tod for her, in which she scathlngly criticizes her grandfather. When the cheek and letter are presented to Sam as damning evidence against Glory's characters. he is heart-broken and orders her out of the house. The humorous hick couple, Caleb and Maria. having just arrived for a visit to their grand -daughter, rush to her rescue and, with their homely native wit, prove more than a match for her enemies. Strong in her innocence, Glory manages to clear herself and. with the aid of Sam's protege. David Jordon, fL1oyd Havlcey. eventually turns tables on the greedy trio who have sought her downfall.
