Reception Spanish Club's Tamale Sales ADMINISTRATION Students, faculty and administrators all ap- preciate time and effort our annual staff has devoted to the yearbook. Each school year is special to all of us and it’s on- ly through the pages of this type of book that we can remember the classes and events of 1982-83 for many years to come. Cliff Vandeventer Principal George Wright Gene Eddings Clifford Vandeventer Superintendent Business Manager Principal Kenneth Dees Vice-Principal Jan Ray Registar Jan Heffington Secretary Lottie Isaack Secretary During this year, my first at BHS, I have been able to see that the school motto, “Spirit, Pride, and Honor,” is not just a catchy phrase. It is, in fact, a meaningful way to describe the students and staff. It has been a valuable experience for me to be a part of Burnet High School this year. Kenneth Dees Vice Principal Fay Supak, Bonnie Fawcett. Mary Williams The 82-83 school year has been outstanding — thanks to our fine student body, staff, parents and community. Again, Burnet demonstrated why we continue to grow in population and student enrollment. Fine academic stand- ards as demonstrated on the Texas Assessment of Basic Skills, and numerous (J.I.L. championships and awards. The football team started the activities year off with a District championship and this seemed to set the tone for the rest of the year. Our band continued to demonstrate outstanding skills and performed in the Governor’s Inaugural Parade adding further credit and statewide recognition for our people and our community — and so the year went — another great one for Burnet. Steve Hinton Your friends say they’ll keep in touch, but you know they won’t. Your teachers say come back and see them. And you know you won’t. Maybe someday it won’t matter. But right now, it hurts a little. AND WHAT DO WE REMEMBER? We looked back and remembered the happy times, feeling the rewards of hard work and dedication. At other times we felt all alone, isolated in the midst of a crowd. Our existence was one of constant new beginn- ings and continuous endings that filled our lives and our memories. It was our year, molded by the vast and diverse character of who we are and had become. 'lift w.c 2 onnV R. Ca CkurL W. CalLy SanJra J. CfarL 21 (deniori . . . C.ric CotLrl oCoren Jc . (o Kerry J. Friends came and shed tears, tears that had never given up hope of your being with us again. The life which was pure and innocent of any demented crime, had been selfishly decreased of its natural time. The day is quiet and not a sound can be heard, not even the chirp from a cardinal red bird. But even then, family and friends continue to come, none wanting to hold back, the memories of good times and fun. The eyes of many are filled with tears, tears full of love and happiness in having known you as a friend these many wonderful years. So it is with these words that we pay our sincere respects to you, Dana, because never again will there ever be anyone as you . . . They thought it was a toga party!! Numerous fund raising activities enabled the Highlandettes to buy new uniforms and props. The girls were involved in many other activities throughout the year, such as making coffee mugs for the teachers, locker goodies for the band, cheerleaders and football players, marching in the Halloween and Christmas Parades, participating in the Halloween carnival, and serving as timers for the Swim Team.
