( In its second year, the International Thespian Society officers were Mike Youngblood, President; Jody Hornsby, V. President; Shannon Wright, Secretary-Treasurer. Other members were Brian Miller, Robert Waggoner, and Laura Hehr. New members who gained eligibility during the school year included Gabby Pridgeon, Mary Cranford, Dana Chris- tian, and Lisa Prince. Students who wish to join the International Thes- pian Society must have participated in at least four play performances. In UIL One-Act Play competition, the play “Rest in Peace” was nam- ed Alternate play. Mike Youngblood was placed on the All-Star Cast and Robert Waggoner and Brian Miller received Honorable Mention All-Star Cast. Other cast members were Jody Hornsby, Lisa Prince, and Dana Christian. LU O UJ O UJ O UJ O UJ O UJ O UJ O UJ O UJ O UJ O Office Education Association OEA once again sponsored the Spirit Chain giving the winning class, Freshman, $25.00 and the runner-up, Juniors, $15.00. February 8th-13th was National OEA Week and the students participated by having a carnation sale, distributing posters in several businesses in town, and giving the teachers notepads on Teacher Appreciation Day. They had several money-making pro- jects including the stuffed animal sale and the “Big Cookie” Raffle. The club was also community involved by having a speaker, Mr. Allen, from Allen’s Tax and Computer Service, and attending a Chamber of Commerce meeting concerning the Blue Bonnet Trail. OEA Club worked with a civic group on a community vocational interest survey. For the Co-op students an annual coffee for the employers and parents was held. OEA Regional Contest was held at Lanier High School in Austin, five students attended: Gina Green, Suzan Holbrook, Dena Locklear, Shelly Mulhollan, and Belinda Perez.
