ADMINISTRATION Page - 11 Classe. CLASSES Page - 17 PERSONALITIES Page - 37 ORGANIZATIONS Page - 51 2 Table of Contents The school year of 1963-64 has been like many others, one of transition for everyone at BHS. Freshmen have made adjustments to accommodate high school requirements of scholarship and school life. Sophomores have begun to assume the leadership qualities that will prevail in the future. Juniors have been appointed or elected to many positions and given many honors. And seniors have fulfilled their responsi- bilities and now look forward to vocations or higher education. Yet, in these terms, this year was not really so different from any other, but to every individual the past year has been the author of innumerable experiences to be recalled whenever par- ticipants gather. It has been the goal of the BULLDOG staff to record this year accurately and meaningfully. The worth of this yearbook might better be judged in the future rather than in the present; its ability to bring back worthwhile memories can only be tested in the future. Of course, this book could not have been completed without the help of many people. The staff would like to take this opportunity to thank the individuals who have helped to make this book possible. To Chester Kincheloeand Bob Bray, we owe our special thanks for many pictures taken of the school's activities. To our school photographer, G. F. Kilman of Fred- ericksburg, we say thank you for your enduring patience. To Mr. Akridge, the faculty, and students, we thank you for your contri- butions, your help, your cooperation and the words of encour- agement. ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.’ JOHN F. KENNEDY May 22, 1917 - November 22, 1963 American Heritage Promotes Democracy The words of Lincoln, Jefferson, Patrick Henry, Franklin D. Roosevelt ring across our land and echo through the valleys. These leaders plus thousands of men in battle gave us our heritage to reflect on. Theirs was the drive of free men establishing liberty for mankind. The Liberty Bell shall forever herald the truth to the world--we are the land of the free. Such is our heritage--to live as free men in this great land of ours, free to follow the doc- trines of our hearts in upholding our constitution. The legacy of these men carried with it a vast responsibility. Based on our doctrine, based on the freedom and cherished liberty of'men, we the youth of Burnet High School accept the challenge of our forefathers and will forever endeavor to continually promote democracy. Ours shall be a constant quest for truth for as Henri Amiel stated, “Truth is the secret of eloquence and of virtue, the basis of moral authority; it is the highest summit of art and life.
