 None can travel unattended. We are told by our basic heritage that alliance and assistance are needed for success. Therefore, the fine organizations which support our school are endeavoring to aid us in broadening our dimensions. With the idea of better schools in mind, the organizations are promoting ambitious projects. The P. -T. A. and C.O.B. S. are two such organizations striving to retain high stand- ards of learning in our schools. The P. -T. A. set ambitious goals for the 1963-64 school year and adopted a theme of Boost the Burnet Schools. The P. -T.A. staged the school's Halloween Carnival and mailed a monthly newsletter to all parents and teachers. In Promoting School Activities P. -T.A. Energic Juniors sold the most annuals and won the full page color picture. It is to these and other leaders that we turn for guidance in activities and in government as well as in everyday life. In Leadership and Scholarship Our great country finds its foundations in man’s ability to think and reason. Our peace is maintained through man's ability to negotiate. We choose to recognize those who utilize their best talents and guide us academically and scholastically. Through strong, intelligent leadership will we be better able to promote democracy now as well as in our adult life to come. In recognizing these outstanding students, we are recog- nizing our leaders of tomorrow. Pictured above are the Student Council members who have guided the school's govern- ment. Sharon Strahan speaks in appreciation of the cooperation and help given her and the annual staff. Below are the students who attained the highest averages for the first semester in the various subjects offered at BHS.
