It is our hope in presenting the 1949 edition of FOOTPRINTS to portray to the best of our abil- ity, the spirit, traditions and activities of Burnet High School. In preparing this annual we have kept in mind the true school spirit of Burnet High School, which is, in reality, the foundation of community spirit, national spirit, and even world spirit. As time passes and the memories of our school days grow dim, if this book may help us in any way to relive our happy days at B. H. S., then we, the Annual Staff of 1949, will have accomplished our ob- jective. SUPERINTENDENT'S STATEMENT Congratulations to the Annual Sponsor and Staff. This book is another representation of what we can do The more we develop the spirit of Loyalty the greater the feeling of a job-well-done May we continue to so conduct ourselves that when we read the contents herein our Pride will soar to new heights. J. C. Petty PRINCIPAL'S ENCOURAGEMENT Yearbook Staff, your theme is great! Con- gratulations! Through unity, loyalty, and cooperation, we shall build. We shall help pave a smooth clear high- way for the feet of the many to follow us. Onward and upward we shall climb, in har- mony as a mighty chorus, challenging the best in us and others E. O.
