Dedication Actress, Musician, Student, Class- mate, Friend. Peggy Dorward She clowned and we felt laughter. She sang and we heard beauty. She studied and we were inspired to higher goals. She worked and played beside us and we knew friendship. She loved life and we found new values in our own. Against all odds she persevered and we witnessed courage. She left us and we know loss.

TRY TO REMEMBER That no one wept except the willow. Try to remember when life was so tender That dreams were kept beside your pillow. Try to remember when life was so tender That love was an ember about to billow. Try to remember and if you remember, Then follow. Try to remember the kind of September When life was slow and oh, so mellow. Try to remember the kind of September When grass was green and grain was yellow. Try to remember the kind of September When you were a tender and callow fellow. Try to remember and if you remember, Then follow. Deep in December it's nice to reme mber Merlin 1977 Burlington Township High School Burlington Township New Jersey Deep in December it's nice to reme mber Without a hurt the heart is hollow. Deep in December it's nice to reme mber The fire of September that made us mellow. Deep in December our hearts should remember And follow. In Appreciation THOMAS O. HOPKINS Teacher September 1939 - June 1947 Administrative July 1947 - Principal July 1951 Superintendent August 1951 - August 1977 On behalf of the students and staff of the Burlington Township Schools, the Class of 1977 salutes Thomas O. Hopkins as he retires from his position as Superintendent of Schools. During his thirty-eight years of ser- vice to this community as teacher, principal, and superintendent, the school system has grown from a small elementary district into a comprehensive, modern facility providing for the needs of Burling- ton Township students from kinder- garten through high school. The development of our schools and the success of our programs are due in no small measure to his dedication to all the students and to his commitment to quality edu- cation. In recognition of his leadership and his contributions, the Class of 1977 is honored to bestow upon him membership in our class and to have him join us as loyal alumni of Burlington Township High School. Mr. Thomas Hopkins The stimulating challenges which the Class of 1977 and its eleven pre- decessors have afforded me will generate myriads of memories in the future. Best wishes, Fellow Graduates. 1977 — B.T.H.S. Thomas O. Hopkins Su pe rin tend ent 3
