fflejmrtment Ijreahs These Department Heads play an important part in help- ing to carry out the administrative functions in our school. Not only do they actively participate in teaching, but each heads a department vital to the four-course curriculum offered at BSHS. Their duties cover a host of responsibilities. Some of these are the following: they supervise the teachers assign- ed to each department, they introduce curriculum changes, they investigate the practicality of new text books and new techniques in their subject areas, they coordinate the sub- ject area program in the school system, and, in general, they are very close to the educational growth of the stu- dents. Students wishing to further their education are instructed in this pursuit. Much time is spent in helping with college applications, and tran- scripts, and student recommendations. Students planning to end their studies upon graduation from BSHS are guided into the course which is best suited for achieving their goals. All students profit from the conscientious work of the guidance counselors. Htbraru The library serves as the treasury of ideas of those who have traveled the path before us. Here students can do research on their chosen careers as well as broaden their knowledge in all areas of learning. Instruction is given in the use of the card catalog, the Readers' Guide to Periodical Literature, and overnight reference material. Know- ing how to use the library guarantees success in learning.
