Seasons highlights are as follows: The rough and tumble Washington game and the near brawl afterwards. lt wasn't a good ex- ample of sportsmanship, but it will probably be remembered as long as anything else this season. The Win over Fairfield in the first encounter with them this season. lt was a last laugh on the Trojans alter We had beaten them in football and alter they had come down seeking revenge. The pep shown by the student body in the last game ot the year With Muscatine, even though the Hounds were beaten by a small mar- gin, Pep wasn't too good this year, but there was a lot of it this last game. The season perhaps, looking at the record, Wasn't too great a success. However, maybe get- ting used to losing sometimes, helped to make it a success in another Way. Woodruff Advised in their activities by Miss Alma Kroeger, the members of the Womens Union Board of Gov- ernors carried on an all-the-time campaign for new lounge furnishings. Although only partially success- ful in this crusade, the Board members kept their spirits up by planning and carrying out a number of social activities. Among the Women's Union events were a Get Acquainted Coffee' for the Freshmen women, a fall picnic in the country, a Christmas party at the Mercy hospital nurses' home, a IC mixer in the lounge, an open house at Moir Hall and several informal parties for Union members. B. Shimmin As in the past, the Mens Union served as cr study and recreation spot for the IC men. Selected to preside over the affairs of the Union were Tom Yager, as president, Don Krelcel, as vice-president, Gene Swygard, as secretary, and Iaclc Herring, as treasurer. The four officers, along with Union ad- viser Mr. Walsh, elected to use a part of the Union fund to install certain improvements in the lounge. This included the recovering of chairs and sofas to improve the appearance of the lounge furnishings 775604 ' A H A N 2 9 F - . fe ffm M M W E' Qi Mens Union Officers. I Herring, T.
