Louis L. McAllisfer All righf now! Hold sfilll Don'f move! called ouf fhe man in his lafe fhirfies, frying fo malce himself heard over fhe deafening clamor. A mofley assorfmenf of faces peered af him from fhe sfeps of Edmunds High School. One whose head would lafer be seen only as an unrecognizable blur furned fo whisper fo a friend. One face porfrayed uffer unconcern: anofher was marked by a painfully fixed smilepand sfill anofher was sef in a sfudied expression of disgusfed resignafion. A rising and falling scale of voices marked fhe man's ascenf and descenf of his ladder. A chorus of sfrange noises and exclamafions greefed fhe camera as if slowly complefed ifs semicircle, and a unison groan wenf up in answer fo fhe unruffled command: Hold sfillt one more, In Dedication Forfy-seven years lafer fhis same scene is sfill being re-enacfed iusf as if has been in each of fhe infervening years. Alfhough fhe group facing fhe man on fhe lad- der is now much larger, fhe proceedings have nof changed and neifher has Mr. Mcfxllisfer. Having served bofh fhe school and fhe Oread since I9l5, Mr. McAllisfer has become a beloved parf of Burlingfon High School fradifion. His excellence as a phofographer is indispufable and considering fhe cir- curnsfances under which he has offen been forced fo worlc, BHS owes him a greaf debf of grafifude. Thus if is wifh deep appreciafion and sincere affecfion and admirafion fhaf we dedicafe our I962 Oread fo Mr. Louis McAllisfer.
