VaLFDItTORI N JP WCH Carolee Hobinett Parents, Teachers, Classmates, and Friends N the Seniors of l9L8 have reached an important m1lestone in our lives J ave accomplished goal set twelve years ago a goal which has been a major part of our life's ambitlon Ne stand at the gates of an unknown future with our backs to a happy past and as we gaze into th1s unknown future wonder what it holds for We are fortunate to be starting our new course of life in a world where opportunnty lies within the grasp of every amb '1ous indlvidual a world filled with turmoil and uncertainties which chal lenge each of us to take our stand in preserving our democratic government an i promot1ng t e peace of the natxon and of the world It is the duty of the rising generation to elevate the morals of the people of the world and to unify the world on the principles of friend liness, cooperation, and understanding It is our hope that we can pick up the challenge and carry it onward To our teachers f the last twelve years wish to extend our sincere thanks' for the4r pat ience, inspiration, and constant efforts If we are a success, to t em goes much of the credit To our Parents goes our greatest apprec1ation for all the advantages they have made possible and for the encouragement they have gfven us Now we must make our own decisions we must re ly on our own iudgement Ne are at the parting of the ways we must choose our own companions and associates we must choose the paths that we must follow some of us to rise some to fall Many of the students are happy when the last day of school has come To the Seniors it brings the mingled feeling f success and regret have many happy memories of dear old B H S and of the friends we have made we are not saying HGood byeu to you, because we are nc leavlng you behind As our friends, you shall always be in our hearts SaLdTaTOQIAN SPFECH Mary YIHCKS Dear parents, tea chers and friends There are no words which will express how grateful we are to have you with us this afternoon Possibly ou don' r alize how proud we are to appear be- fore you today with these simple ceremonies in which we are able to participate as the lQL8 gradu ting c ass To one and all I would like to bid you wel come, and we w1ll do our best to present a good program To each one here this program has a special mea ning Perhaps to some it is the memories of when they were on this very stage bidding their school farewell Perhaps to many It is a pleasant reminder of hopes and aims they had on their graduation day To those who have had a personal interest in us through out our lives, this means more to you, than to the chance guest to whom we appear but as strangers Friends, to you this maybe a pleasant occasion, but it is only one of many ir your lives, which en joyable as they seem, will only have a fleeting in fluence To us this is a serlous moment our lives one of the many milestones by which every one must pass in order achieve success To our parents and e- latives it is an hour pride and affection our teachers it is one both joy and regret hope, over seeing us de- part This occasion for us closes an important phase of our lives, and we know that this phase has the utmost value on our future careers In the past we have tried to do the be- st and make the most of every opportunity and we are going to continue do ing so no matter what Fate may deal us We ask you, dear Fri ends, to be glad with us and for us as we enter in to the program of the hour R hope that you may all feel that it has been good to be with us today, and see in all that we do and say, some assurance f your welcome as a class we cannot ask you to ntome Againn, but hope that you will always remember this hour with us CLASS HJSTOHY Rose Ann Frieden One brlght Monday mo rning, September 1936 fo r glrls and four boys started on the well tra veled road of edlcatlon Vith our oenclls and tab lets tucked under our arms we entered the f1FS+ grade room unde tre superv sion of A185 rrench Pere we started storlng our mlnds w1th w1sdom The four glrls were Nyla June Frey, Carolee QOb1H6'C, Rose Anr Frieden, and Clara Cook Tie four boys were Eugene Dumbar, hllton Hamilton, Junlor Ackerman, and Dale Domnick The class journeyed on through the land of Learnlng un'er R155 Dr1s kel's guldance Ne were jolned by Charles wltchey and Ll Verta 'Way camp :Ln the thlrd grade In the fourth grade we were goln ed by Harley Crowl and LOlS Cloud, but lost Zu gene Dumbar In the fifth grade we the same class roll with Mrs Wllda Sherfy as our teacher e ente ed the slxth grade vrth the absences of Lols Cloud and La Verta bay Camp The seventh mtar u der the supervls on of Urs- Edythe Chllds, we galned Charles Ncx lllams, ed ' .
