SUPERINTENDENTS MESSAGE Wisdom ,. knowledge concern for others compas- sion ... empathy . . . tolerance ...are a few of the objectives that education as a moving force in Burlington will strive for constantly. You, as citizens of the school, ofthe community. and of the nation, are the implementers of such objectives for all mankind, for it is only through these qualities that the spirit of human understanding and human dignity can pre- vail throughout the United States and, indeed, throughout the world. You are about to embark on life's road, hopefully, armed to meet those challenges inherent in living. We have attempted in Burlington to provide you with the strengths that will char- acterize the role that you will play in finding solutions to problems that will confront each and every one of you in the years ahead.
