What is Burlington High School? This is a difficult question to answer. To be sure, Burlington High School is a building, composed of bricks, cement, steel, and glass. However, to us as graduates this school is more than the physical structure. It is rather a spirit—one which we shall carry with us for the rest of our lives. We have just completed twelve of the most important years of our lives: years of growing, years of learning, years of preparing ourselves to meet successfully the problems of adult life. For many of us graduation from Burlington High marks the end of our formal education. Others will seek to further their education in a college or a business or a trade school. But whatever the case, the significance of our years spent at Burlington High School will prove itself many times in the years to come. We, the members of the Arrowhead staff, sincerely hope that this yearbook may be a means of remembering the peo! years we have spent at B urlington High.

Dedication To Mrs. Jellison, the Class of 1965 owes a debt which it shall never be able to pay. In September of 1963, our class, as an organization, was practically nonexistent. Our treasury was extremely low and, worse still, we had not yet learned to function as a class. We were without an advisor and, when the call went out for volunteers, Mrs. Jellison accepted this challenge and brought with her a host of new ideas for class projects. Throughout our Junior year, even when the outlook for the future of our class seemed dim, she retained her natural optimism, a quality which has proved to be most helpful throughout the past two years. It is, then, with a great deal of pride that we dedicate this, our yearbook, to Mrs. Jellison as a token of our deep appreciation for her service.
