School Committee Graduation is the climax of twelve years of hard work and accomplishment. You have com- pleted the prescribed courses of study and you are now entering a new phase of your youthful life with unlimited opportunities and challenges awaiting you. But no matter what way of life you may elect to travel, you must understand that your goals are not reached by wishful dreaming. Your chances for success are improved only through preparation, planning, self appraisal, personal de- velopment and effective work. Above all, have faith in yourself. With faith you need have no fears for your future. It is the fervent hope and prayer of the School Committee that Almighty God grant you the strength and wisdom so necessary to meet the challenges of adult life. Thomas J. Kelleher, Jr. Chairman of the School Committee Dr. Herman J. Dunsieth For each of you, graduation from high school is but a beginning. The quotation, “begin and the rest is easy” is oversimplified but full of wisdom. Many in- dividuals waste time and opportunity, not deliberately, but by not beginning, not getting up and doing. Begin to move and follow through. Automation, the loss of some positions from the labor market, development of new positions, will cause many to assess their positions in the economy more than once. A requirement for success is the determination to succeed. There will never be a time when you can give up learning. Learn- ing and doing are important to you now and later. B egin . . . now. Success to each of you will come, the last opportunity has not been presented, nor has all the effort been put forth to have successfully found the ultimate answer. Opportunity will be present for each. Be prepared. TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CLASS OF 1965: ay a ee hae se 6 8 8 6 Sethe tetets =e we = - —e -
