Sa dea fo The Class of 1961 will be the last class to grad- vate from the present high school building. This will be the 22nd class and it will be the largest. Burlington has had many changes during these twenty-two years with the most startling of these within the last twelve years during which you have attended school. The complexion of the town has changed from a small, rural suburb to a large munic- ipality having a tremendous influx of industry. A great many of the industrial plants located in the town are involved in making products which had not been invented when you started the first grade. In order to cope with these changes, the municipal officers of Burlington were fore-sighted to develop plans for the expansion of the facilities involved in the operation of town government. The School Committee, especially, has built three beautiful ele- mentary schools and under construction we have the new high school which will be occupied next Fall. In addition, there is another committee formed to build still another elementary school. The major problem to be faced in the immediate future is that of the junior high school aae students. MRE rincipal You, as the graduating class, will now take your places in the town as citizens and upon your shoul- ders will fall many of the burdens of the operation of government. We of the Faculty sincerely hope that you have learned well your lessons in order that you may be enabled to perform your duties in an outstanding manner. The entire Faculty and | join in wishing you good luck in all of your future endeavors. JAMES M. HORTON Principal MR. THOMAS MOHAN Assistant Principal
