We didn't realize it at the time, but these were the four best years of our lives. They were short, full, and different from all the rest. It took all four years to start us on the way to our highest realiza- tions ..... and when we were finally Seniors and had just the final step to go, we knew that we had iust begun. lt has been a short journey this far, but it will be ever so much longer without the familiar faces of our Senior Class. The names and people we knew during these four years are as numerous as the stars in the sky. Many we will never see again, but the memory will be with us forever. There will be many more students to come after we leave. Perhaps they will use the same classrooms, sit in the same desks I and walk the same halls. The appearances of the classes will be the same, but their visions for the future will be much different from ours. lt was only four years ago, and we didn't think too much about it at first. With these few words, we, the Seniors of Burleson High School, leave you our annual, the dreams and visions that we had for B. H. S, THE SENIORS OF '54 A , le , it s .:. ' i W -ri? Mg, . . V' 3- . fy 'cfs A 2 rf f 'Q' Dcdzkafivn The Seniors of '54 dedicate this edition of The Elk to Mrs. Maydelle Crouch. During her first year here at Burleson High, she has helped the students to gain knowledge and build character. The lcind thoughts we have for her and our apprecia- tion of her help are deep within our hearts. She will always be remembered by the students of Burleson High School. 1? f f F5' e' ,435 KH' 1- E ,df wwf xx as J . W . Girls in their prettiest dresses and boys in their best suits help- ed to make the occassion quite a gala one. The motif of the banquet, a Chinese Fete, was carried throughout the entire affair. The meal was served gracefully by the Sophomore girls who were dressed in beautiful Chinese cos- tumes. To all those present, this night will remain in our memories fora long time to come. f J , ff.
