A Glimpse lute The Future After having been away from my old hometown for the past ten years I came to visit my family. While exploring the big city of Burleson fpopula- tion 50,000J I seemed to be always meeting my old classmates. First, I met Bob and Fred. They told me all about their work on the farm. I have been told that they are partners on the biggest peanut farm in Texas. As Iwas going into the Little Shamrock Hotel I saw Ann and Joe Riley. They were in an awful rush to catch a train to Florida. According to the newspaper stories Joe is the best baseball player since Babe Ruth. Ann has done much to help him reach the top. Next I saw my old friend Daisy May. She is the interior decorator for TheJohnson Construction Company of Dallas. I went in to see how the post office has changed since my high school days and there was Helen. She is the busiest model in town. After I left the postoffice I met Beatrice. She took me to see the dress shop she has just opened. I must say that it is one of the most beautiful stores I have ever seen. While I was in the shop I met Billie and Beverly. They were shopping for new Easter outfits. They are both very efficient housewives. When I left .Bee's Dress Shop it was near noontime. I went into the City Cafe and the first person I saw was Thomas Nuckols. He is with a law firm in Austin. He came to town to investigate a client. After lunch I went to the school. There I saw Nancy Morelock. She is the first grade teacher now. She says that she has lots of fun teaching. Ihad just enough time to see the new beauty shop on 5th Avenue. When I entered the door I saw Vona having her hair set by June Lewis. Vona is a pretty little housewife while June owns the prettiest beauty shop I've seen this side of New York City. When I left the shop I met Bill and Harold who had come to meet their wives at the beauty parlor. They are both hog ranchers. While waiting for a taxi I saw Celeste who told me that she has been teaching dramatics for the past five years. When the taxi came I was surprised to find that the driver was Kirbie Kimbrow. He owns Kirbie K. Kimbrow's Kab Kompany. Ring, ting, ring. Oooooooooooh fYawnj, I must have fallen asleep. Could all of that have been a dream?
