IV the Jn and Sr. are studying indimentals of soldering. On Oct.ll the Sophomores went to the district judg- ing at Platte. All types of livestock were judged. Gale Inglett and Elton Serr won firsts in sheep judging and E l t o n Serr won a third in Swine judg- lngo Elmer says that the boys are exceptionally obedient and well-mannered t h i s year. Elmer relates that the Ag. IV boys are really getting down to business and copying notes et the rate of 62 per minute, The Shorthand girls should take lessons from Elmer, National Qssemhly Pfesenfs rcher Cn Konday, October 22, Bob and Jerry Dill visited the assembly here. They presented a fine show of archery. Some of their outstand- ing performances were Bob shooting a balloon out of Louie's mouth and blowing out the candle with the arrow. They were here in the behalf of National Assem- bles. I am sure everyone enjoyed and admired Jerry and Bob Dill. Misuse of sc: hoc Vandalism means the de- struction of property for the sheer joy of destroyw ing something. W h y do some people carve up desks with knives or marthe sur- face with pencilsg and these same people are the ones to scream about the poorcondition ofthe desks. This year the school district bought about 15 new desks to replace the mutilated desks. These new desks are now well de- corated Cif you can call it thatlwith scars, names, and just plain silly mark- ings. In a year or two they won't be any good to writecn either if students continue this vandalism- 1 v l The Howler llleetlf a headline The kids howl when their names appear, but they howl louder when they don't, so The Howler gives us all the news except the library list and the detentions. Pictures, copy, new ideas for theme and arrangement, popcorn, fudge and rubber cement went into the making of the '56 Bulldog. To say nothing of hours and hours of work. Our advisor, Mrs. Prchal, turned her living room into a work shop and it over flowed with layout sheets, kids, pictures and popcorn. We like our book and hope you do too.
