HUMMER STA F Back row: Mrs. Garrett, Bohnet, Kallander, Forbes, Herman, Leonard Front row: Smith, Deering, Norberg, Cahoy, Ehly The Howler Staff published once a month a mimeographed paper, The Bulldog Howler. A weekly column also under the same name was published in the Burke Gazette. Ten students under the supervision of Mrs. Garrett completed the class. Lula Mae Kallander was the editor for the year with the remaining staff filling the other positions. Clarabell Risewick and Marilyn Schlaht were on the staff the first semester and Bill Doering and Kenneth Norberg became staff members at the start of the second semester. All the men in the armed forces, who have graduated from Burke High School were sent the Howler. Letters received from them addressed to the staff and students of Burke High, were published in the Howler issues. J pf' 5
