It seems impossible that our twelve years have gone by so quickly. The class has been unusually active in school activi- ties, especially during the four years of high school. Members have played football, basket- ball and pin ball machines. Over the period of four years of high school four of our girls have represented us as cheerleaders. We have been in plays, clubs and trouble. In the autumn of 1959 we entered our first year of high school. Class officers were elected: President, Phyllis Cox; Vice-President, Bobby Cheak; Secretary, Linda Sanders; Treasurer, Juanita Sanders; and Student Council Member, Brent Peavler. Our Sponsor was Mr. Harry Richmond. As Sophomores we were more excited than as Freshmen and we were no longer looked upon as green. Our class officers were: President, Bobby Cheak; Vice-President, Billy Cheak; Secretary, Linda Sanders; Treasurer, Lou Walters; and Student Council Member, Diane Hayslett. Our Sponsor was Mr. Harry Richmond. As Juniors we had a lot of fun all year. We sold magazines, Cokes, and candy at ball games, and ordered our class rings. Our biggest thrill of the year was in producing our play, We Dude It. Class officers elected were: President, Bobby Cheak; Vice-President, Jean Hawkins; Secretary, Linda Sanders; Treasurer, Diane Hayslett; Reporter, Carolyn Kauffman. Student Council Members were: Brent Peavler and Lou Walters. Our Sponsor was Miss Margaret Gibson. We entered our Senior year with seventeen members. We had fun soliciting ads for our yearbook, having a Donkey Ball Game, producing our Senior play, Hillbilly Weddin' , and going on our Senior trip. Senior officers elected were: President, Linda Sanders; Vice-Presi- dent, Carolyn Kauffman; Secretary, Jean Hawkins; Treasurer, Judy Martin. Student Council Members were Lou Walters and Diane Hayslett. Mrs. J. W. Langford was our Sponsor. This concludes our high school years and they have been happy ones. Our class has been an active one and after graduation we will doubtless find as much success as we have had in high school. We, the Class of 1963, bid you farewell. Jean Hawkins Ann West We, the Senior Class of 1963, being of unsound minds and broken bodies, declare this as our last will and testament: ITEM I. To the Juniors we leave our superiority. ITEM II. To the Sophomores we leave our battered and torn books and hope they last two more years. ITEM III. To the Freshmen we just leave, and wish them the same luck in three years. ITEM IV. LINDA SANDERS leaves her noon meals of bologna sandwiches and pepsi cola to Peggy Gilvin. BILLY HAYSLETT leaves his ability to graduate from Burgin High School to Ernest Nave. LOU WALTERS leaves her first pair of heels to Glenda Wiley. RONNIE DENNY leaves his ability to stay in U. S. History three years to James Reed. WAYNE STINE leaves his ability to have fishing fever to Tommy Freeman. BILLY CHEAK wills his ability to get along with Sherman Camden to Billy Prewitt. CECIL RILEY wills his good behavior to Tommy Morrisey. BOBBY CHEAK wills his ability to play basketball to Cecil Van Diver. PEGGY HORTON wills her naturally blonde hair to Norma Denny. CAROLYN KAUFFMAN wills her ability to flirt to Barbara Bowman, so she can keep up with Billy. SUE WOOSLEY wills her freckle cream to David Cheak. ANN WEST wills her wild giggle to Wanda McQueary. JEAN HAWKINS wills her ability to study math to Hollis Hughes. JUDY MARTIN wills her big mouth to Sheila Smith. GEORGE PENIX wills his fast driving to James Helm. BRENT PEAVLER wills his ability to nearly founder in the cafeteria to Jay Van Arsdale. DIANE HAYSLETT leaves her ability to be class leader to her sister, Prissy. Peggy Horton Sue Woosley f ropt]ecg It is now 1973, and we the class prophets have decided to tour the country to find out what our fellow classmates are doing. We find: BILLY CHEAK has just returned from a long visit at Alcatraz and is now trying to be a good boy. BOBBY CHEAK is teaching Social Sciences at Cambridge University. JEAN HAWKINS is Mathematics professor at Yale University. BILLY HAYSLETT is happy coaching at B.H.S., with Ernest Nave as his star player. DIANE HAYSLETT has just finished nurses training and is making time with the Neuro- surgeon at St. Joseph Hospital. PEGGY HORTON is manager of Hop’s on Fifth Avenue in New York. CAROLYN KAUFFMAN is airline hostess for T.W.A. and is making her favorite flight from Burgin to Florida. BRENT PEAVLER hasn't decided, but thinks he'll go back to school. GEORGE PENIX is trying to see how many cars he can tear up and how many girls he can pick up. CECIL RILEY has become a professional lover and has dated every female in Burgin. LINDA SANDERS is married to the head football coach at Eastern, and has her own cheerleading squad. WAYNE STINE owns his own pool room and is admitting women players only. LOU WALTERS has finally graduated from college and has come back to B.H.S. to take over Beatrice's place in the cafeteria. ANN WEST is a Major in the Waves and is piloting her own submarine. SUE WOOSLEY and JUDY MARTIN are running their own Scuba School for men divers only. Carolyn Kauffman Diane Hayslett junior piag HILLBILLY WEDDIN' PAW BELSNICKLE........................ Our unit now has two members on the 7th District execu- tive board -- Mrs. Glenn Bradshaw and Mrs. Guilford Waggener. We participate financially in the school lunch program, donating all of the nap- kins and this year we bought six dozen soup bowls, soup spoons and forks. The clothing bank now has a large room where the clothes may be conveniently arranged. The Health Committee tested the eyes and ears of the grade school children and helped in the dental hygiene program. The Membership Committee has been active and has en- rolled many new members. The annual Hallowe'en Carnival was held Friday, October 26th and it was well attended. Our new project this year was the Birthday Calendar and we hope to continue it each year. The executive board this year is: President, Mrs. Guilford Waggener; Vice- President, Mrs. Thomas Bright; Secretary, Mrs. James Teater; Treasurer, Miss Christine Proctor; and Superintendent P. E.
