j tudcnt Council The Student Council of Burgin High School for 1961-62 is made up of six members, chosen by their fellow students. The Council elected Fred Mullins as President and Joy Smith as Secretary. Under the encouraging leadership of our sponsor, Mr. Napier, we plan to have a homecoming dance, a Valentine dance and a spring dance. During the year we shall endeavor to promote the betterment of the school.

 Homecoming TENTH ANNUAL FOOTBALL HOMECOMING On October 26, 1961, the annual homecoming was held just before the whistle blew for our game with Mt. Vernon. Donna Patterson and Wayne Walls were chosen Queen and King respectively. Sue Hockensmith, the 1961 Queen, was escorted to the stage by Larry Yocum. Billy Knight was the King in 1960 but was unable to attend this year. Sue crowned Donna who, in turn crowned Wayne. The first attendants were Judy Martin and Larry Wayne Matherly; the second attendants were Mary Helen Hayslett and Shorty Hayslett. The crown bearers were Sherry Ranell Waller and Robert Alan Davenport.
