Historg Four years seemed like such a long time when we ventured into our first high school class. Think- ing back it seems impossible that we have covered so much territory in such a short time. There have been pleasures and regrets, hopes and let-downs, joys and sorrows. Already we are beginning to realize that our happiest days are quickly running out. Sitting for a few moments to think, we may recall such things as-. The happy autumn in 1958 when we all came to school with pencils and paper, ready to start on this wonderful experience. We elected as President, Fred Mullins; Vice President, Bob Hager; Secre- tary, Jane White; Treasurer, Ronald Denny; Reporters, Pat Gwinn and Joy Hulette, and Student Council members, Fred Mullins, Bob Hager and Joy Hulette. Our Sponsor was Mr. Goebel Ferrell. As sophomores we had begun to settle down......a little. As class officers we chose; President, Mike Bowman, Vice President, Gerald De Nise; Secretary, Pat Gwinn; Treasurer, Joy Hulette, and Student Council member, Larry Yocum. Mrs. Cora Ann Lewis was our sponsor. Our junior year was a full and prosperous one. We sold candy and cokes at ball games, sold maga- zines, had a class play Papa Says No , and ordered our class rings, which seemed a turning point in our lives. This year officers were: President, Pat Gwinn; Vice President, Sue Hockensmith; Secretary, Joyce Caddell; Treasurer, Joy Hulette, and Student Council Members, Larry Yocum and Joy Hulette. Miss Margaret Gibson was our sponsor. We entered our senior year with seventeen members. We had both gained and lost some. Our senior year was full of such things as: selling Christmas cards, soliciting ads, Donkey Ball game. Jitney suppers, our senior trip and numerous others. Class officers were: President, Sue Hockensmith; Vice- President, Larry Yocum; Secretary, and Treasurer, Ira Hayslett, and Student Council Members - Fred Mullins and Joy Smith. Mrs. J. W. Langford was our sponsor. Five of our boys played football and nine played basketball. Our class had five girls who had been cheerleaders at least one of the four years. Graduation is not far away and the thought of leaving makes us sad; but we must make way for on-coming seniors. To our teachers and our School we offer our deepest gratitude for their great under- standing and inspiration. Joy Smith We, the Class of 1962, bid you farewell.
